Man Shot in Hunters Point

A man was shot in the leg early this morning in San Francisco’s Hunters Point neighborhood, police said.

At about 12:30 a.m., officers received a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Oakdale Avenue near Ingalls Street, police said.

The 25-year-old victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police spokesman Albie Esparza said.

According to police, multiple witnesses were standing outside when they heard gunshots and saw that the man had been shot in the leg.

Police have not taken anyone into custody nor released any suspect information in connection with the shooting.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
