Man Shot in Foot in Bayview Saturday Waits Two Days Before Seeking Treatment

A man was shot in the foot in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Saturday but didn’t go to the hospital to be treated for his injury until two days later, police said today.

The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. Saturday near Third Street and Palou Avenue.

The 35-year-old victim said he heard gunfire from a vehicle and realized he had been shot in the foot, according to police.

The man went home and did not go to the hospital until Monday. His injury was not life-threatening, police said.

The man was not cooperative with police investigating the shooting, so no suspect information was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
