SFPD Responds to Suspicious Devices

San Francisco police have responded to a second report of a suspicious device in the city this evening.

Police were called to the first block of Beale Street around 7:30 p.m. on a report of a suspicious device, according to Officer Gordon Shyy.

The bomb squad responded and rendered the device safe, Shyy said.

The area is now being reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The incident is the second involving a suspicious device this evening.

Police were also called to a report of a suspicious device in a home on Beaumont Avenue just west of the Richmond District around 6:30 p.m.

The earlier incident has also cleared without incident, Shyy said.
