Coast Guard Responding To Report Of Body Near Angel Island

U.S. Coast Guard crews are responding to a report of a body in the Bay near Angel Island this morning.

Few details were immediately available about the body, Coast Guard Lt. j.g. Sean Kelly said at 7:15 a.m.

Kelly said officials did not know if the body was that of a sailor who was missing after a boat sank near the Golden Gate Bridge early Monday morning.

The “Alma” sank in the Yellow Bluff area near the bridge and Coast Guard crews searched overnight for the missing sailor, who was believed to be the only person aboard the 30-foot boat.
