I was on the scene and dialed 911. The truck was huge and the driver had been displaying road rage before hitting the cyclist. My friend and I had just commented how he was about to hit a woman’s car because she did not move immediately after the light turned green (he also honked aggressively at her).
Then he went off, made a very fast U Turn and only stopped 100 feet later when people started screaming.
I am surprised the cyclist survived, the sound of the truck running over the bike was awful.
I tried to tell the officer at the scene that the driver was aggressive but she didn’t seem interested. She just kept asking if I saw the exact moment the truck ran over the guy. The before and after circumstances, she did not care about.

This makes me very angry. Our police officers need to be more engaged and care about what witnesses have to say at accident scenes. This is inexcusable, and certainly completely insensitive of that officer. And the driver was cited and let go…to continue his rant on down the road…unbelievable.
