Suspect In Ocean Beach Area Bat Attack Remains At Large

A man was hospitalized after being struck in the head with a baseball bat in an attack near San Francisco’s Ocean Beach on Monday afternoon, police said today.

The attack was reported at about 4:45 p.m. near Great Highway and Fulton Street.

The 28-year-old victim and the suspect, a man in his 30s, got into an argument that escalated into violence, according to police.
The suspect struck the victim multiple times in the head with the bat, then fled on foot.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect remained at large as of this morning. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
