3:15 PM: A three-alarm fire in San Francisco’s Duboce Triangle this afternoon has been extinguished after damaging three buildings and causing injuries to one firefighter, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 1:34 p.m. in the first block of Walter Street between Duboce Avenue and 14th Street.
Firefighters called for a second alarm at 1:42 p.m. and a third around 2 p.m.
The fire was eventually controlled at 2:49 p.m., fire officials said.
Two buildings on either side of a duplex at 34-36 Walter St. were damaged by flames that were fueled by heavy winds, Deputy Fire Chief Mark Gonzales said.
An aggressive interior attack kept the fire mostly contained to one building, Gonzales said.
One firefighter was injured by melting tar that fell through the roof and burned him, Gonzales said. The firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated.
San Francisco Municipal Railway’s N-Judah light-rail and 22-Fillmore bus lines were affected by the fire and delays were expected through the area, Muni officials said.
4:06 PM: A fire at a house in San Francisco’s Duboce Triangle neighborhood this afternoon has spread to at least one other building, prompting crews to call for a three-alarm response, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 1:34 p.m. in the first block of Walter Street between Duboce Avenue and 14th Street. Firefighters called for a second alarm at 1:42 p.m. and asked for a third alarm around 2 p.m.
Fire officials said one house was engulfed in flames and that the fire spread to at least one other adjacent building.
No injuries have been reported.
