The Dandy Warhols are celebrating two decades of existence and SF’s the Independent happens to be the kickoff venue for their 20th anniversary tour. The Portland band started as an amalgamation of influences. Their sound immediately caught the attention of Tim/Kerr records and they were on their way with a debut album within a year’s time.
Since then, the band has released seven LPs and countless EPs that gave way to numerous singles from their breakout “Bohemian Like You” to “We Used to Be Friends,” known by many as the Veronica Mars theme song. Come celebrate an indie band that has inspired so many this Wednesday at the Independent.
