Say what you want about the traveling musicians — those kids sure have inspired some great music. It took her own bit of wandering for Hurray for the Riff Raff‘s Alynda Lee Segarra to settle on New Orleans and settle into making music.

Her latest album, Small Town Heroes, is a joyous folk revival echoing those early influences and paying homage to her adoptive home in New Orleans. Though Segarra has a home base in the Lower Ninth Ward, she’s still wandering thanks to her music. Hurray for the Riff Raff are set to hit SF tomorrow at the Independent for a show teeming with sing-a-long worthy songs and hand-clap inducing jams that will make the Lower Haight venue seem all the smaller and more intimate.
