Driver Strikes Cyclist On Great Highway, Alcohol Possible Factor In Collision

A car hit a bicyclist who was possibly under the influence of alcohol while riding outside Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist at Great Highway and Lincoln Avenue around 3:50 p.m., police said.

The bicyclist entered the crosswalk while the red light was on and was struck by the vehicle, according to police.

The bicyclist, a man in his 30s, sustained a head injury, police said.

He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment, according to police.
