Cyclist Struck, Pinned After Collision Near Ferry Building

A bicyclist was hit by a car and injured near the San Francisco Ferry Building this morning, a police spokesman said.

The collision was reported at 6:31 a.m. near the 1 The Embarcadero, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The bicyclist was pinned under the vehicle and suffered some head trauma but the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Esparza said.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. The bicyclist was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, Esparza said.
