Three people were taken to a hospital to be evaluated after a chain-reaction crash that involved five vehicles on San Francisco’s Alemany Boulevard this afternoon, a police sergeant said.

The crash was reported at 1:20 p.m. in the 600 block of Alemany near Interstate Highway 280.

Police Sgt. Eric O’Neal said a car heading north rear-ended a vehicle in front of it, causing a chain-reaction crash that involved a total of five vehicles.

Three people—a woman in her 70s, a man in his 30s and another man in his 50s—complained of pain and were taken to a hospital to be checked out, he said.
