Trains Remain Backed Up As Muni Resolves Metro Signal Problems

8:39 AM: A signal problem that caused delays on San Francisco Municipal Railway’s Muni Metro lines this morning has been resolved, but trains are still backed up, a Muni spokesman said.

The issue affected trains turning around near the Embarcadero station to go outbound, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

As a result, the movement of trains through the subway was slowed, and Muni set up supplemental shuttle bus service to carry riders along some of the affected routes.

As of 8:30 a.m., shuttles were still in place on the L-Taraval line between the West Portal station and 46th Avenue and Wawona Street, and on the N-Judah line between Church and Market streets and La Playa Street, Rose said.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” Rose said.
