The man in his 20s was struck near the corner of Bush and Leavenworth streets at about 5 p.m., Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The pedestrian was taken to San Francisco General Hospital in life-threatening condition, Shyy said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
