Victims Of Double Potrero Hill Shooting Were Seated In Cars When Suspect Opened Fire

Two men were injured, one critically, in a shooting in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood on Thursday night, a police spokesman said today.

Officers responded at about 9 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the first block of Turner Terrace but did not find any victims, police Sgt. Eric O’Neal said.

Shortly afterward, police received a call from San Francisco General Hospital that two men, both around 30 years old, had come in with gunshot wounds. One victim’s injuries were considered life-threatening while the other is expected to survive, O’Neal said.

Police initially said four people had been shot but later clarified that there were only two victims.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the victims were sitting in cars on the street when at least one suspect approached and opened fire, O’Neal said.

No suspect information was immediately available in connection with the shooting, he said.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
