A San Francisco police officer shot and killed a dog in the city’s Potrero Hill neighborhood this morning, according to a police spokeswoman.

Officers with the police department’s housing unit were in the 1000 block of Connecticut Street around 10:25 a.m. when a dog charged one of the officers, who then shot the dog, police Sgt. Danielle Newman said.
