Mysterious Shooting Report Leaves SFPD Searching For Answers

Police in San Francisco are investigating a pair of shootings in the city’s Bayview District Tuesday night, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a shot spotter activation in the 1100 block of Palou Avenue at about 10:20 p.m., Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Shyy said that police dispatch was informed by a 911 caller that a shooting victim was taken to a nearby fire station.

No victim, however, went to the fire station. A shooting victim, a man in his 20s, had gone to San Francisco General Hospital, according to Shyy.

The victim was treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to survive.

The shooting was the second of the night in the Bayview District on Tuesday.

The first occurred in the 1500 block of Revere Avenue around 7:40 p.m. A man in his 20s suffered from a gunshot wound in the torso. The extent of his injuries was not immediately disclosed.

A male suspect was arrested, and three additional suspects were sought but remained at large as of late Tuesday night.

Shyy said investigators are looking to see if the two shootings are connected.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
