The shooting was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Market Street, which is near 7th Street.

The 22-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk when the suspect approached and shot him, according to police.

The victim drove himself to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not life-threatening, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man who was about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighed 180 pounds, had black hair, brown eyes and had a black and white mask with a skull on it, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The suspect was also wearing a brown puffy jacket and blue jeans, Esparza said.
