The U.S. Coast Guard is advising boaters on the San Francisco Bay to be prepared for rough winds and high seas today.
Northerly wind gusts as high as 63 mph are expected, potentially creating dangerous sea conditions, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Lt. Cmdr. Shawn Lansing said mariners should avoid taking to the water if stormy conditions occur.
Boat owners and operators are also urged to check that their vessels are properly moored or anchored, as strong winds can cause boats to break free if not properly secured.
