BART is recovering from earlier delays caused by an equipment problem, officials said this afternoon.

Trains were delayed by up to 20 minutes earlier this afternoon due to a switching malfunction on the tracks between Milbrae Station and San Francisco International Airport, according to BART officials.

The problem was causing trains to be behind schedule between San Francisco and the East Bay on the Pittsburg/ Bay Point Line.

Trains are currently running 5 to 10 minutes behind schedule on the SFO line in the Pittsburg/Bay Point and Millbrae directions, officials said.
