Skateboarder Seriously Injured After Collision With Car

A skateboarder was seriously injured when he collided with a car near San Francisco State University on Saturday evening, a police spokesman said today.

The 20-year-old man crashed into a vehicle near Junipero Serra Boulevard and Holloway Avenue at about 6:35 p.m. Saturday, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The skateboarder was transported to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries, which were considered life-threatening, although he was able to talk to police at the hospital, according to Shyy.

The 33-year-old man driving the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Shyy said.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
