Appealing Events: Dylan Fest at the Great American Music Hall

Support a good cause and celebrate the music of the legendary Bob Dylan at SF’s first Dylan Fest this Wednesday. Originally launched on the East Coast to celebrate Dylan’s 60th birthday, Dylan Fest comes to SF for the first time Wednesday night at the Great American Music Hall.

The event brings together a eclectic blend of musicians from as disparate genres as bluegrass and electropop to put their special spin on Dylan classics like “Just Like A Woman” and “Lay Lady Lay.” Appeal favorite Erika Wennerstrom of Heartless Bastards, Boots Riley, Sly & The Family Stone’s Cynthia Robinson and Jerry Martini, and many more local and national artists, including some special guests, are slated to appear.

Dylan Fest benefits Sweet Relief, a nonprofit that provides assistance to musicians faced with financial and medical hardships. Can’t make it to the show but still want to help out? Visit Sweet Relief’s site at sweetrelief.org to donate.
