Gruesome Discovery: Track Shoe With Foot Inside Washes Up At Ocean Beach

A dismembered foot still in a shoe washed ashore at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach Saturday morning, a National Park Service spokeswoman said.

The foot was found around 11 a.m. near Taraval Street, spokeswoman Alexandra Picavet said.

Someone walking on the beach waved down National Park Service beach patrol units about the discovery, Picavet said.

The patrol units called U.S. Park Police who determined it was a human foot inside the shoe, she said.

Police then searched the area and found what they believe is a bone connected with the disembodied foot.

Picavet said it appears the severed foot, which was in a black track shoe, has been out in the elements for a long time.

Park police are continuing to investigate the incident.
