Woman Injured In Fillmore Drive-By

A woman was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting in San Francisco’s Fillmore District this afternoon, a police spokeswoman said.

Reports of gunfire were came in to police around 1:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of McAllister St., which is near Webster Street, San Francisco police Officer Tracy Turner said.

Arriving officers found a 25-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, she said.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to Turner.

Police are searching for a suspect who shot at the woman from a black sedan. There were several others in the car, but only one person appeared to have a gun, Turner said.

Police shut down the block to investigate the shooting, which briefly blocked bus service on the 5-Fulton route.

As of 2:20 p.m., Muni officials said regular service had resumed.
