San Francisco police are seeking a man and woman who attacked a security guard while stealing beers from a supermarket along Market Street on Monday night.

The robbery was reported at 11:52 p.m. in the 2000 block of Market Street, which is near Church Street.

The suspects were seen attempting to steal the beers and were told by a security guard to put them back, according to police.

Rather than complying, one of the suspects hit the guard over the head with a belt and the pair fled with the beers, police said.

The security guard declined to be transported to a hospital, according to police.

The suspects, described as a woman between 20 and 25 years old and a man between 20 and 30 years old, had not been found as of this morning.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
