Rebirth Brass Band co-founder and culinary enthusiast Kermit Ruffins has brought his BBQ Swingers back to San Francisco for two nights of performances at Brick & Mortar this Thursday and Friday.

The prolific trumpeter saw the release of his thirteenth album this past spring, the celebratory We Partyin’ Traditional Style! Ruffins is known far and wide as a major party-starter, combining his love of food with music in an effortless combination.

He’s even got his own restaurant just down the street from where he grew up: Kermit’s Treme Speakeasy, right behind Louis Armstrong Park in the crescent city itself.

Dancing is strictly enforced at a Kermit Ruffins gig to the point that the trumpeter doesn’t take a gig if the venue doesn’t have a ballroom or suitable spot for folks to get down. Expect quality tunes and some equally awesome food, both a great way to kick off the weekend. Brass Mafia and Fat Cat are set to open.

Tickets for both days are just $15 each in advance and $20 at the door.
