SF’s next big festival may soon become one of its most tech-centric thanks to Esurance’s latest gimmick. If you weren’t thrilled enough to be saddled with a semi-uncomfortable cloth wristband all Outside Lands weekend, there’s another wristband you can add to your collection: the “insider band.”

According to an email sent by Outside Lands, the insider band will check you into various stages, help you locate your friends, keep track of set lists and food/drink preferences, and help you share photos, using what we can only assume is ubiquitous and vaguely creepy RFID technology. All you’ve got to do is tap your wristband to Big Brother in disguise the many check-in towers at Golden Gate Park.

According to Outside Lands, there are even more perks to the wristband besides flooding your social media accounts with buckets of overshares and humble brags. Users will, they say, have the opportunity to win VIP upgrades, Uber credits, blankets, and OSL cash.

Interested in having Outside Lands track your every move? Head to sfoutsidelands.com/esurance and register for one of these free, limited bands. Then Tweet, Facebook, pin, share, and do whatever other social media things you can to fill the time between now and when you won’t even have to consciously think of throwing your location, image, activities, and existence to the web.

Welcome to the future, kids.
