Man Falls From Roof As Police Investigate Mission Shooting

A man was shot and another injured in a roof fall when bullets were fired in San Francisco’s Mission District on Wednesday evening, according to police.

The shooting was reported just before 7:30 p.m. near 26th and Harrison streets, police said.

A 33-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was driven by his girlfriend to San Francisco General Hospital, police Officer Gordon Shyy said. He is expected to survive.

The second victim, a 39-year-old transient named Raul Flores, was not involved in the shooting but was hurt when he fell off of a roof after authorities responded to the scene, Shyy said.

Police said Flores had a no-bail warrant out for his arrest for a San Francisco robbery. He suffered abdominal and leg injuries in the fall and was treated at a hospital then booked into jail, Shyy said.

Two suspects in the shooting, believed to be men between 20 and 30 years old, remained at large this morning.
