A power outage in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood this evening is nearly fully restored, according to PG&E.

Initially, 2,890 PG&E customers lost power in the area around First and Second streets at 5:36 p.m., PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.

All but 326 customers had their power restored at 6:24 p.m.

The outage affected First and Second streets between Bryant and Townsend streets and piers 36-40.

The cause of the outage is under investigation. There is no estimated time of restoration for the remaining customers, Guidi said.
