Appealing Events: TEEN Supporting Eleanor Friedberger at the Independent

Fiery Furnaces frontwoman Eleanor Friedberger is set to play the Independent in support of her just-released sophomore LP Personal Record.

Perhaps just as enthralling as the multi-instrumentalist are the bands she’s brought with her. Enter Brooklyn outfit TEEN, whose latest offering, the Carolina EP, is an aural feast of layered vocals and lo-fi sensibilities.

Frontwoman Kristina (Teeny) Lieberson is a force to be reckoned with. Her strong vocals and dextrous guitar-playing make TEEN the perfect pairing with the likes of Friedberger and icewater, who will also be performing.

Though initially formed as a country trio, icewater embraces similar psychedelic sounds as TEEN, veering more towards lo-fi layers than bombastic maximalism.
