Some BART trains are still running about 10 minutes behind schedule this evening because of a switching problem between the Colma and Daly City stations.

BART spokeswoman Luna Salaver said the problem began at about 3:45 p.m. and appears to be related to today’s hot temperatures.

The issue initially caused major delays, and Salaver advised BART riders heading to San Francisco International Airport to factor in an extra 20 minutes of travel time.

As of 6:45 p.m., delays were down to about 10 minutes, and only service in San Francisco and on the Peninsula was affected, she said.

Trains were expected to be back on schedule by about 7:30 p.m., she said.
