The San Francisco Hall of Justice was evacuated this afternoon for what ended up being a false alarm, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded at 1:16 p.m. to a report of an alarm sounding at the building at 850 Bryant St., fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

However, they gave the all-clear about 10 minutes later after arriving to find that there was no danger and that someone had merely pulled a fire alarm in a hallway, fire officials said.

Today’s evacuation at the second in three days at the building, which houses dozens of courtrooms, the district attorney’s office, police headquarters and other departments.

The building was evacuated for nearly an hour Monday afternoon after smoke from an elevator engine on the roof traveled down the elevator shaft, fire officials said.
