Weekend Traffic And Transit Disruptions: Mission Sunday Streets, Cherry Blossom Festival

Cherry Blossom Festival
Over the next two weekends, April 13-14 and April 20-21, the Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

The following street closures will be required beginning 4 a.m., Saturday through 11 p.m., Sunday both weekends:

· Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore streets
· Webster Street between Geary Boulevard and Sutter Street
· Intersection: Webster Street at Post Street

The following Muni routes will be affected:

· 2 Clement
· 3 Jackson
· 22 Fillmore

The Cherry Blossom Parade will be held on Sunday, April 21.

Sunday Streets – Mission District
The second Sunday Streets event will be held this Sunday in the Mission District. Sunday’s event is a 2.2-mile route and includes street closures on portions of 24th Street, Valencia Street and various adjacent streets. The route will be available for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to all participants.

The following street closures will be required from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

· 24th Street between Potrero and San Jose avenues
· Valencia Street between 25th Street and Duboce Avenue

Cross traffic at 24th Street will be allowed on:

· Mission Street
· South Van Ness Avenue
· Folsom Street
· Bryant Street

Cross traffic at Valencia Street will be allowed on:

· 20th Street
· 18th Street
· 16th Street
· 14th Street

The following Muni lines and routes will be affected:

· 12 Folsom
· 14 Mission
· 14L Mission Limited
· 22 Fillmore
· 27 Bryant
· 33 Stanyan
· 48 Quintara/24th Street
· 49 Van Ness/Mission
· 67 Bernal Heights

Street Closure for Central Subway Construction Project
Beginning 8 p.m., Friday until 4 a.m., Monday, the following closure will be required to accommodate the sewer work for the Central Subway construction project.

· 4th Street between Harrison and Bryant streets
· On-ramp traffic to westbound I-80 at 4th and Harrison streets

Variable message signs will be in place on 4th and Harrison streets to direct traffic. Motorists are encouraged to use on-ramp westbound I-80 at 7th and Harrison streets as an alternate route to access westbound I-80. Extra travel time should be allowed.

There will be no impact on Muni service.

While the closure is in effect, motorists are encouraged to use the I-80 on-ramp at Harrison and 7th streets as an alternative to access westbound I-80.
