SFFD Extinguishes Three-Alarm Pacific Heights Blaze

A three-alarm fire in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood was extinguished just before noon today, a little over an hour after it started, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The blaze was reported at 10:50 a.m. at a multi-unit building at 2008 Vallejo St., which is between Buchanan and Laguna, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Talmadge said crews contained the blaze at 11:45 a.m. and fully extinguished it at 11:56 a.m. The flames were contained to the upper floor of the building and the attic, she said.

Somebody was in the building at the time of the fire but was able to make it out safely, and no injuries were reported, Talmadge said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
