Pedestrian Critically Injured In Lombard Hit-And-Run

A man was critically injured when he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run collision on San Francisco’s Lombard Street on Saturday night, police said today.

The 24-year-old man was running across the 1500 block of Lombard Street, between Gough and Franklin streets, when he was hit shortly before 11:40 p.m. He was not in a crosswalk at the time, police said.

The man suffered life-threatening head wounds and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated, police said.

The vehicle, which was silver in color, did not stop after striking the man and the driver had not been found as of this morning, according to police.
