Parolee Arrested After Trying To Swipe Police Officer’s Gun From Holster

A 24-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for attacking police officers in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood and trying to take an officer’s gun out of the holster, police said today.

The attack was reported at 2:08 a.m. Sunday in the first block of Dakota Street.

Officers responded to a report of threats made in the area and contacted the suspect, a parolee who then fought them and tried to grab one officer’s service weapon, police said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was eventually taken into custody and the officers were not injured, according to police.
