Caltrain service between San Bruno and South San Francisco will resume shortly on a single track, according to a Caltrain spokeswoman.

Both north and southbound trains will operate on the northbound tracks through the area at 10 miles per hour, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

Trains will not stop at the South San Francisco Caltrain station where a train with a fuel leak is stopped.

Service has been suspended between San Bruno and South San Francisco since Train #444 was halted at the South San Francisco station around 7:30 p.m. The train suffered damage to its fuel tank after it struck some debris on the train tracks between the Bayshore and South San Francisco stations, Dunn said.

Passengers from train #444 were picked up by SamTrans buses.

Northbound train #445, which was stopped in San Bruno due to the fuel leak, was turned around and sent back south, making all local stops, while northbound train #447 operated normally.

Southbound train #446, which was stopped at the Bayshore Station, was sent back to San Francisco, where riders could catch BART.

BART is honoring Caltrain tickets between San Francisco and Millbrae, and SamTrans is honoring all Caltrain tickets.
