Elderly Man Attacked After Traffic Accident

A 74-year-old man was critically injured in an attack that followed a traffic collision in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Monday evening, police said today.

The assault was reported around 5 p.m. Monday near Third Street and Wallace Avenue, where the suspect and the victim got into a traffic accident in a parking lot, according to police.

Both got out of their cars, and the suspect punched the victim in the face, police said.

The victim fell and hit his head on the ground. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, according to police.

The suspect fled in his car, described only as a black vehicle, and had not been found as of this morning, police said.
