American Airlines has temporarily grounded all flights because of a computer network problem, a San Francisco International Airport spokesman spokesman said.
The airline has postponed all departures across the country until at least 2 p.m., and at least four flights out of SFO are affected, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said.
The airline’s flights have been grounded since about 11 a.m., a duty manager said.
The Dallas-based airline reported on its Twitter page that the problem is related to its reservations system.
“We’re currently unable to modify today’s reservations,” the airline tweeted at 12:35 p.m. “However, when able, we’ll offer refunds or update travel at no charge.”
