Alleged Red Light Runner Injures SFPD Officer

A San Francisco police officer was injured when his patrol car was struck by a woman who allegedly ran a red light in the city’s South of Market neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, police said today.

The collision was reported at about 2:45 p.m. at Fifth and Brannan streets.

The officer’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

No other details about the crash were immediately available this morning.
