Ali Golden is an amazing designer whose gorgeous clothing is manufactured right here in Friskytown.
I kept hearing about her, so I finally got it together and hauled it over to the East Bay (which is Pig-Latin for Beast, and for good reason. Trust me, I lived there for years. I went to UC Berkeley for college and let me tell you, nothing is more beastly than the self-righteous, self-entitled, faux tolerant bullshit of an East Bay hippie, oh wait, except a Marin hippie. Seriously, I grew up around those people and I wouldn’t touch them with a Neosporin covered 10 ft. pole) to her Oakland boutique.
I had seen Ali’s clothing in her catalogs but her pieces were even better in person. The colors were vivid and the fabrics flowed beautifully. I ended up buying a dress, a belt, and a coat.

You can buy Ali Golden’s clothing online but her shop is so beautiful and she’s so wonderful that they’re worth a trip to her East Bay store, despite the East Bay itself (seriously, when I got back to my car I found a note on my windshield from someone complaining about my parking job).
