A 30-year-old woman suffered a heart attack while running a half-marathon in San Francisco today, a fire dispatcher said.
Paramedics responded to a report of a collapsed runner taking part in the San Francisco Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon near Marina Boulevard and Laguna Street at about 9:45 a.m., according to San Francisco Fire Department dispatch.
The woman was in cardiac arrest and was revived by paramedics, the dispatcher said.
She was taken to a hospital and remains in serious condition, the dispatcher said.
A spokesperson for the race did not immediately return a call seeking more information.
