Woman Thrown To The Ground And Kicked During Purse Snatching

A 49-year-old woman was thrown to the ground and kicked during a purse snatching in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood on Wednesday night, police said today.

The robbery was reported around 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Girard Street.

The victim was approached by three male suspects in their late teens, one of whom grabbed her purse, according to police.

When the woman struggled, she was thrown to the ground, where another suspect kicked her in the shoulder.

The suspects then fled in a black car that drove away west on Burrows Street, police said.

The woman complained of pain to her shoulder but was otherwise not seriously injured.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
