policeblotter_sfa.jpgA ceremonial dragon head was stolen from a property in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon but was later recovered, a police spokesman said today.

The theft was reported at about 2 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of 13th Street, which is near Mission.

Officers responded to a report of a trespasser stealing the large dragon head, which is worn in parades, from an area in the rear of the building that is secured by a gate, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The dragon head was later found a few blocks away, at Valencia and McCoppin streets, Esparza said.

A woman, identified as Shaun Lavell Jones, 28, of San Francisco, was cited for trespassing and lying to police in connection with the incident, Esparza said.

Esparza said he not have details on where police found Jones or her possible connection to the theft.
