police-light-bar1.jpg12:20 PM: A Daly City police officer fatally shot a male suspect in San Francisco near Candlestick Park early this morning following a chase.

At about 12:30 a.m., Daly City police pursued a stolen vehicle with two people inside of it into San Francisco.

According to Daly City police, the pursuit began near the intersection of John Daly Boulevard and Santa Barbara Avenue in Daly City. Daly City police stopped their pursuit on Interstate Highway 280 at U.S. Highway 101.

A San Francisco Police Department officer saw the vehicle on San Bruno Avenue and followed it. Shortly after, the driver allegedly brandished a firearm at the officers.

Both suspects abandoned the moving vehicle at Hester Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard in San Francisco’s Little Hollywood neighborhood. The passenger immediately surrendered to Daly City police. The driver ran away with the gun in hand.

The unoccupied vehicle continued on and hit a San Francisco police vehicle.

Daly City and San Francisco officers approached the fleeing driver, who allegedly raised his gun at them.

A Daly City officer, fearing for his life, shot the suspect.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was shot in his torso.

6:12 AM: A vehicle pursuit that began in Daly City and ended near Candlestick Park in San Francisco early this morning remains under investigation, San Francisco police said.

According to Daly City police, the pursuit began near the intersection of John Daly Boulevard and Santa Barbara Avenue in Daly City early this morning.

The chase ended near the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and Hester Avenue in San Francisco’s Little Hollywood neighborhood at about 12:28 a.m., according to San Francisco police.
