Two Great Horned Owl chicks were recently born in Golden Gate Park. Although they are very small, they are beginning to edge their way closer to where humans could view them.

Right now both chicks sleep all day under the mothers’ wings, except for very short moments such as this when they enjoy the sun. They sleep so much because all their energy right now is focused on growing.
