policeblotter_sfa.jpgAn elderly man who was attacked on San Francisco’s Market Street last month has died, police and medical examiner’s officials said today.

The man, identified by the medical examiner’s office as 77-year-old San Francisco resident Dallas Ayers, was thrown to the ground by another man shortly after 11 a.m. on Jan. 28 near Market and Post streets, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Ayers was taken to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries last Thursday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The suspect was described as a white man in his mid- to late 40s who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and was wearing a brown shirt, Esparza said.

No arrests have been made in the case, and Esparza did not have more information about the attack.
