policeblotter_sfa.jpgA woman was found critically injured from an apparent attack in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Wednesday night, police said today.

At about 10:10 p.m., a passerby found the 35-year-old woman lying unconscious on the sidewalk and bleeding from the head in the 100 block of Leavenworth Street, which is near Golden Gate, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for multiple facial fractures and other head trauma, injuries that are considered life-threatening, police said.

The injuries are consistent with an assault, possibly with some sort of weapon, Shyy said.
No arrests had been made and no suspect information was available as of this morning, Shyy said.

Anyone with information about the attack is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411.
