sffd_firefighters.jpgA one-alarm fire damaged an apartment in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond neighborhood this afternoon, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The blaze was reported at 2:35 p.m. at 4441 Balboa St., which is between 45th and 46th Avenues, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Firefighters arrived and initially did not see any smoke, but soon determined that there was a fire burning in the walls of the apartment, Talmadge said.

The fire was extinguished by 3:21 p.m. and did not injure any residents or firefighters, she said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
