policeblotter_sfa.jpgTwo men were robbed, pistol-whipped and possibly shot at in San Francisco’s Sunset District on Tuesday night, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of 26th Avenue, which is near Moraga.

The victims, ages 26 and 24, were approached by three suspects, two of whom pulled out guns and demanded their belongings, according to police.

While one of the victims was taking off his necklace, one suspect pistol-whipped both victims, then yanked the chain off the first victim’s neck, police said.

The suspects then fled, and as the victims ran in the other direction, they heard what sounded like gunshots, according to police.

The victims were not hit by any gunfire but went to a hospital to be treated for cuts and soreness on the backs of their heads, police said.

The suspects, men between 20 and 30 years old, had not been found as of this morning.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411.
